It would have been easy to pick you out too, there were only about 3 campers over there. We had a good time in spite of the weather.

There's been a lot of rain lately. Not sure I'd want to camp under the dam now! Maybe by the 4th of July it will have dried up considerably.

We took delivery of a new TT last week. Our plans are to head out to Scott County Park next week. Any pros and cons to the park? We are completely new to this!

Congrats on the TT! We purchased ours last year. Scott County is good. Doesn't have a ton of shade but is very well maintained and the lots are pretty level. Plus there is a pool during the warmer months.

We spend more of our time at West Lake Park. The tree growth is much more mature and more comfortable to lounge.

What kind of TT did you decide on?

Go early to Scott county if want the bald eagle full hook up CG...fills up fast with no reservations and first come. The other Incahais or whoever you spell it is more mature and shaded, just no sewer and a bit more slope to the lots.

Scott county is cheap and has some fishing, pool, golf course, and is heavily patrolled by park rangers if you like that. Check out the pioneer village as well.

Thanks, for the info.

We purchased a 2017 Wildwod 27DBK, so far we are enjoying it. We ended up spending last weekend at Scott County Park. The Bald Eagle campsite was full, so we ended up at the other. No complaints on that one, our kids enjoyed running around and playing with friends.

Sadly we haven't even dewinterized yet. We only have a few trips planned this season but that's only because we are making some major enhancements around the ranch. We will make up for it next year.

We just stayed at Cherry Glen last night. It's a nice park overall but quite large and most sites are not level. We put four blocks under each front wheel (which requires 20 blocks total building 4-3-2-1) and we were still a couple of inches low in the front. This park is adjacent to the boat launch but there is not a direct path to it so unless you have another vehicle handy it's a short walk down the road. Also this campground does not have a swim beach so you have to go to another park. Due to the large number of sites, without a good breeze the campfire smoke in the camp is intense. But we were happy to nab the last site for the night on only two days notice. Given the huge number of parking spaces at the boat launch, this reservoir must get massive day boating use during the summer!

We also spent one night on the outbound leg of our recent trip at Pleasant Creek SRA near Cedar Rapids. All the electric sites were taken but we got a very nice dry site. Those are set up nicely with more space and elbow room than the electric sites which are pretty tightly knit.

We had expected to stay at Morgan Creek Park (county park) but it was full when we got there even though quite early in the season. All sites are first come first serve.

It was a Saturday night when we arrived so most sites in both parks had already been claimed by weekend campers.

Great points. Yea our sight was front to rear unlevel and hitch point was all the way down. We noted to that the CG was large and packed but pretty good space however our neighbors behind were only a few feet away from our back bumper.

I neglected to mention the park has several playgrounds with climbing structures etc. for kids. They are in the center of several loops, easy for the kids to get to without "crossing the street" and easy for parents to keep an eye on. Also there is some good biking around the loops, but it's maybe a bit hilly for the the youngest bike riders.

Will be at L. Brandt's Crazy Acres in Ackley again this weekend. Nothing fancy, but a lot of friends and family are permanent like us. Have a tech coming out tomorrow to fix the furnace and other things while the TT is still under warranty. While he does that, I'll be putting head and tail lights in the golf cart.
