Can anyone give us the lowdown on Backbone SP? Headed through Iowa on our way to Minnesota in mid September.

We stayed at Pleasant Creek again in Palo. Wanted to do a week at Pinicon Ridge (Flying Squirrel) but found out kid has to lift weights at 6:30 am every morning. It wasn't on his schedule so kinda bites. He's a senior and playing football at Washington High School. It's annoying when the coaches don't put all the info on schedules like that. At least I get a break from high school sports for a little while after this. Anyway might go back to Palo Thursday night. That campground is really growing on me...

While it's a beautiful park, I've never camped there. Only stayed in cabins. I will say I never see anybody post here saying they are camping at Backbone. There must be a reason for that, but I don't know what it is. I do know they don't have any full hook up sites.
Wish I could be more help. Maybe some of the others will yet chime in for you.

Still in Shakedown Mode with our new 29ik. Going 20 miles for four days to Denton Ferry RV Park in Cotter, AR, right on the White River -- best trout fishing in the country.
We were supposed to go to Eureka Springs last weekend, but when I tried to close the slides, the battery was down to 2.3 volts. Couldn't get the slides in.
Learned a lesson with that one. Plugged into AC or use my generator then moving the slides. LOL

we are heading up to lazy acres center point urbana out 13 and 14 to camp with the kids and grand-kids never been there but the website looks nice

From friends that have camped there it seems to be kid friendly. I haven't stayed there but I prefer further away from 380.
