In Nebraska you buy this sticker that goes on your window that gets you access to all the state parks. You buy a new one every year. You can buy a day pass but I just buy the annual one. Lately I’ve found parks in Iowa to keep me occupied but I still support the cause.

I love Missouri parks. We did a fall tour last year and it was amazing. I plan to repeat this year.

This will be my first 5th wheel.
Yea we started near Kansas City at woolen mills where we caught up with u2 and eventually ended up in Branson. It was after school started and the parks were pretty clear. The weather was amazing. Loved it.
This year I hope to hit some Iowa parks I’ve never been to. There are a lot of suggestions on this thread. There’s one out on the east side that’s supposed to be a neat boat ride into a cave that sounds neat.
You meet the nicest people at campgrounds. One couple we met shared the same dog interests as we have. We both surrounded our campers with pet fences and between us we had like 10 or 11 dogs running around. We’d sit around all weekend and drink and smoke pork and shoot flies with our bug-a-salt guns. We’re both members of this forum and they managed to make it to goshen twice.
Sadly he caught the flu last fall and died very suddenly. They had to find homes for all the dogs and auction everything off to the highest bidder. She also had the flu but couldn’t live by herself.
So now I’m on a quest to step things up and oh yea...for the first time in my life I had a flu shot.

We stayed in Waterloo/Lost Island Waterpark KOA last night on our way north to MN after two months on the road. The front of the park was surprisingly full but the back and upper areas were nearly empty. Water is off at all sites (maybe some in front have it?). But there is water available by hose at the office when you pull in. We used water for the evening and then dumped the lines since it dropped to around 25 overnight. All sites are FHU so dumping is on site using whatever water you have on board for flushing. We stayed here before, and it's a lot more fun and interesting when it's full of children running around having fun. But after a long trip, it's great to pull into a pull-thru site that is nearly level (needed one block front and back on one side). They have gas, diesel and propane on site.

Would LOVE to be out camping this weekend BUT new MAC 206LTD will not be ready for pickup till the 25th and I have already (dumb move) given our old Coleman pup to our daughter.
That said, our favorite spots are Green Valley State Park (nice, newly rebuilt cg and lake) near Creston and Red Haw (older but a lot less used park) near Chariton.
