Lake D'arbone State Park La

Very nice state park and very deserted 68 sites 6 with RV only 3 occupied at this time. Just enjoying the peace and quiet. Sure it will not be like this in Florida next week or the next at Gulf Shores Al. No doubt be back here soon.

Yes you right nice park have been here many times over the years. DW and I were here many years ago when they were taking photos for the state park brochures just so happens that time not many people here. We were riding bikes as they took photos they ask us to ride by again for picture it ended up on front of the one for Lake D'arbone sp but only ones knew it were the 2 of us when we saw the brochure at State Welcome station the next year. That is our only claim to fame and no one knew it but us.

The only thing we don't like about it is there is no swimming area. We are about 45 min. West of there and about 20 min to Lake Claiborne State Park. Most of the State Parks around her seem to be really busy on Holiday weekends other than that pretty vacant during the weekdays.

Being retired here most time during week home on weekends we use several SPs that way. Now more fishing, walking just being lazy but grandkids would like the water. The newer sp have some splash pads now.

Darbonne is my favorite state park. Our group camps up there several times a year.

Funny thing is, #1 son and I decided to make a spur of the moment trip up there last Saturday, and who was in the very next campsite beside us......... Big Paul.

DW and I were there this time last year and enjoyed it. Grilled dome nice steaks, caught some bluegill and chinquapins off the pier, swam in the big nice pool. A local church held service in the pavilion sunday morning with good music and singing. We really enjoyed our stay.
