Lake Livingston State Park, TX

Just a few from our trip this past weekend. This is a great park, but not too sure about "enforcing" of the rules. There were some folks shooting a pump pellet gun as we were walking down to the lake. I don't believe any guns are allowed in any State Park, much less firing off into the woods. Not sure what happened to them as the Park Patrol drove by after we were walking back to our site...below:

An awesome shot of a sailboat just off the boat launch.

Roman Forest is about 35 miles north of Houston up the Eastex Freeway (Highway 59). Great little piece of country away from the city...for now. Probably won't last long, but I'll enjoy it while I can.

Nice state park. We camped there for a couple of days last year and will go back. Huge lake. They were working on one section of the campground but the sites by the lake were open and very nice. Here's a shot of a glorious Texas sunset from our site.

Hey IBTEX, Livingston sure does produce some fantastic pics. Here's a couple of a passing thunderstorm. I was out for some sunset pics, but this got in the way!!

Pondlady..thanks, but I am just a beginner. Well, a rebeginner (did I just make a new word!!??). I had a 35mm Pentax a while back, and learned just enough to be passable. I forgot most of it though as I have entered the digital world. These were all taken with a Nikon D-5000 DSLR and either a 55-200 zoom or 70-300 zoom. The camera did most of the work...I just helped it a bit and got lucky with the opportunities given me.
