Lake Superior Circle Tour

Not sure if this is best place to post or not as I will be traversing parts of Canada as well as Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Planning on leaving Ohio and heading up to Ste Sault Marie to start the Lake Superior "circle tour". Will be crossing over into Canada and heading to Thunder bay then back into USA at Minnesota border. Heading thru part of Wisconsin and then back into Michigan and along southern shore of Lake Superior.
Looking for input from folks that have done this or parts of it. I'll be traveling in a 28 Class C motorhome. I'm allowing my self 2-3 weeks. Any "must see's" or other recommendations?

Recommend: Just about every Ontario Provincial Park along the north side of the lake and every Minn. State Park along the west shore. Along the UP of Mich., I would add Fayette Historic State Park (actually on Lake MIch.). Then also in Mich. Sand Dunes National Seashore and Petoskey State Park

For Michigan's UP: Calumet Township on Keeweenaw Peninsula. We camped in the Hancock Municipal Park and it was very nice. The city of Marquette is also very nice; a good bike/recreation trail runs along several miles of their Lake Superior shore line.

Lots of good thoughts. You can take your motorhome from Bayfield to Madeline island. Very special place 2 campgrounds. Big Bay town park is my favorite.
Copper harbour well worth the drive.
Grand Marais Mn and Michigan both great towns with wonderful town parks.
Lakehead Boat Basin in Duluth great to stay at . 10 minute walk to the downtown area. Shops and restaurants.
Enjoy
Also Lambs resort in Schroder Mn.

Lots of good things to see--the ones already mentioned cover most of it. You might want to double check road conditions. In Michigan, the Keweenaw peninsula just experienced major flooding. Also, parts of US 2 and many smaller roads across northern Wisconsin were closed a few months ago for the same reason. I don't know what the current status is.

Smile Lake

In Minnesota Two Harbors has a nice campground on the Lake. Also, working light house in that area neat to see. In Duluth RV's are allowed in downtown area (large parking lot) on the lake right next to the canal entrance for all the big ship tankers coming into to load/unload in Duluth. Duluth is a neat place to spend a day or two.

Lake Superior

In Minnesota Two Harbors has a nice RV park on the Lake. Also, in the area is a working Lighthouse (I think originally Coast Guard but still active) that is a nice visit. In Duluth you can park your RV in a large parking lot near the canal entrance through the shipping lanes into Duluth. Great if you want to see the big tankers coming/going to/from Duluth. Duluth is definitely worth a day or two.

Brimley State Park about 12 miles outside the Soo is very nice, right on Whitefish Bay. Ft Wilkins State Pk at Copper Harbor is nice and had a restored fort with re-enactments. As stated Picture Rocks to include the boat tour and Tahquamenon Falls. If you stay T Tahquameon Falls State Pk e sure to ha d lots of insect repellent.

Lake Superior Circle Tour

We just returned from U.P. two weeks ago. I highly recommend Country Village Rv Park in Ishpeming and Bay Ridge RV Park in Garden, which has a bar/restaurant on the water just a short walk down a path the campground! Both have a very accommodating staff.
