Looking for nitrogen and getting weighed

I am in the Dearborn area of Michigan heading west. I am 7 pounds low on my nitrogen 36CKTS 5th wheel tires (recommended psi is 110). Anyone know where I can top off? I am 40ft long plus truck, so going to car dealer won't work. I see I am not too far from Goshen, Indiana. Can I go for a fill-up at the Forest River Plant? I would also like to get my 5th wheeled weighed. Does anyone know if I can do that there?

I would just go put air in them. Or go to any tire shop and pay them to top you off with Nitrogen.

X2

The air you breathing is 78 percent Nitrogen. IMO a gimmick to get your money.

Belle Tire has Nitrogen if you want it. But adding plain old air won't hurt a thing.
On your way south down I 75 stop at any of the 3 Pilot/Flying J truck stops (The Detroiter in Woodhaven, or the other 2 a little farther south in the Monroe area) park your rig over by the truckers and go inside and talk to them about weighing your setup. They'll help you through the whole process.

I have read the numerous posts on this debate. I decided I want Nitro. My question is can I go to Goshen to get it?

According to the web site for the one near Dearborn, you must have bought the tires there.

Uhhh, see this: a nitrogen molecule measures roughly 300 picometers while an oxygen molecule measures 292 picometers. That’s only a 2.6% difference in size. One picometer is equal to one trillionth of a meter (1 m / 1,000,000,000,000). The Nitrogen molecule is slightly bigger so therefore the marketing is that Nitrogen will not permeate the tire walls....Physics is there, common sense is not. Put good ole air in their. Air is 78 percent N anyway.

No, we are not. I am looking for a place. That is what my original post asks. Everyone else is bringing up for debate. As I said, I have read all the posts on the debate.

You think this will stop the debate?

if your just topping off most tire shop guys at Costco will fill them if looking for repair they now offer a service to members that bought tires elsewhere.
I believe if you pull up to the service bay and ask they won't refuse a fill.

If you want a reliable source of nitrogen buy a small tank, regulator and hose and carry it with you. Would beat trying to squeeze into non rv spaces.

Sad but true.

For the OP, no I don't think you can just show up at the factory for a top-up of nitrogen in your tires.

As for weighing, any truck stop will have scales that you can do it at. You can usually see the scale as you drive up/by, or you can use this to find them ahead of time:
https://catscale.com/cat-scale-locator/

If you need, here is the procedure for doing so:

I doubt the factory has it. Tires are most likely mounted before they get them

If you want Nitrogen, then by all means, do it. But don't keep driving around with a low tire. Or you will have more worries than it being low.

That was the point to my statement, driving around, passing several air pumps, looking for the elusive Nitrogen.

Hello,

If you are in need visit Belle tire as suggested and pay. I too believe in Nitrogen but the tire dealer I bought new tires from doesn't use it any longer, the machine they used broke down and this did not not replace it so I use air in the trailer now. The Truck and Car get Nitro at the Ford Dealer for free.

As mentioned tire come from 3rd party sellers, Lionshead for example. They ship them filled to the plant.

As far as weighing the trailer and truck any truck stop will do. If you are concerned with side to or individual wheel weight RVSEF is a company that does this and they will be at the Goshen Rally in a few weeks. I use a infrared thermometer to check for heavy side. All my tires are the same temp so that is telling me the weight is the same if the pressure is the same . Of course the tire in the sun will be higher pressure.
