We went to Tom Sawyer Park and loved it. Worth the hassle of getting there. The views of the Mississippi were wonderful. They have benches set up along the riverbank so you can go out there take your morning coffee and just enjoy. Oh and late spring early summer, there are blackberries growing along the river bank.

We stayed at Tom Sawyer RV Park in 2010. We had a pull through site right on the river. I thought the barges might keep us awake at night but that was not the case.

We've stayed at Tom Sawyer several times. The road/neighborhood issues are a small price to pay for such amazing views of the Mississippi.

Currently we are staying in Horn Lake, Mississippi just outside of Memphis in Jellystone RV Resort. The spaces are spacious, facilities are clean and the people are nice. I work near where you say your brother lives and it's only a twenty five minute drive to work.

The only place I've stayed at any where near Memphis is the campground at Tunica MS behind the Hollywood Casino. Probably too far away for you but only $20 per night. Golf course right next to it.
