NJ to Scottsdale/Mesa AZ.

Looking for guidance. We're thinking about wintering in AZ next winter. So leaving NJ right after Christmas this year what would be a suggested route to follow. I'm inclined to head well south before heading west. Mainly looking to avoid winter weather and mountains.
Also if anyone has knowledge of RV parks in the Scottsdale/Mesa area and wish to share that knowledge that would be great.
Thanks for your time/help.

You could take 95 to I-10 it is longer but you shouldn't hit bad weather.

Agree, this is the shortest route but December could be interesting. When you get out to NM and are running in the 5000-7500 foot range, wind and weather can quickly become issues, not to mention the downhill run from Flagstaff to the valley. For that time of year I would look at taking 81 to Knoxville, 59 to 20 to 10. The run down 95 (a horrible road) to 10 is much longer. But no matter which way, take your time and enjoy the trip!
