Old Stone Fort state park, TN.

We are heading out this weekend for our first trip of the year. We will be going to Old Stone Fort state park near Manchester TN. It looks like we will be there at the end of the Bonaroo festival. Has anyone ever need to that campground or the Bonaroo festival? We hope to visit burgess falls state park. Can anyone suggest other attractions in the area? Thanks.

Several years ago when I was visiting Jack Daniels they had managed to get a state law passed that allows them to sell liquor, but it has to be in designer bottles.

You may experience traffic problems even at the end of the festival.

A lot of the parks have been reworked. I agree Davy Crocket Birthplace is nice, we were there in April. Heading to Roan Mountain State Park for the Rhododendron Festival next weekend, they have wifi now, but still need the honey wagon, not bad if on the lower section. Also Panther Creek State Park now has some full hookup sites. And looking forward to a trip to Fall Creek Falls in maybe late July. TN State Parks are Awesome!

I am a little worried about that. I'm going to call the campground before we leave to ask about the traffic.

Thanks.

DW is a state employee so we get a little discount on camping fees at most state parks.

Made it to old stone fort state park. Not very many campers here today. Nice and quiet! Will post a few pictures tomorrow. Plan on doing some site seeing and hope to drive up to burgess falls and McMinnville.

Our 4 nights at old stone fort were nice and quiet. The site was not very wide but had good area next to fire ring. We did short day trips to Cumberland caverns, George dickel distillery and bell buckle TN for RC cola and moonpie Click image for larger version
