Ruby Falls

Our summer destination this year is Ruby Falls in TN.

Coming from Manitoba Canada. Any advise on where to stop or what the best routes to take would be appreciated !!

We plan on taking 4 days to make the trip, stay for a week, then head back a different route.

Thanks,

Glen

It's been 20 year since I've been to Chattanooga. Looks like a few things have changed based on google earth viewpoint.

Planning on making it up to Rock City also. Depends on how long we spend in the area.

Looking for camp grounds near or on the mountain.

Thanks,

Beautiful area you live in. Traveled there quite a bit for Lockheed. Stayed in the HI @ exit 174 on I24.

Lookout Mountain KOA, never been there. I don't know anything about it but seems like it's a good distance from Rock City and Chattanooga.

Raccoon Mountain CG, the best I can say is it's ok. Not over priced. Not much shade.

Chester Frost is a county park here. The good is it's on the lake, cheep, three dump stations, very nice and good space between sights. The bad is no sewer and no reservations. But if you get there on Sunday through Wednesday there should be no problem getting a sight. Not real close to Rock City, but not too bad.

Holiday Trav-L-Park has a lot of good reviews on the net. I have never stayed there.

Plan on going to the Tennessee Aquarium. Cool place.

Best fried chicken is Champy's on MLK. Home - Champy's Chicken the best.

Chattanooga has changed allot in 20 years. Places you wouldn't go to back then, are the in places now.

Let me know where your thinking about staying and I can check it out for ya'll...

Concord is a pretty nice place too. I came very close to taking a transfer to Charlotte back in the early 90's. We don't get much past Asheville now days.

Any recommendation on dump stations along the way?

Our route will pass through the Dakoda's, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, short end of Kentucky.

Thanks in advance.
