When there is no other info available I've had decent luck going to google maps and zooming in with the satellite view. At least you can usually see if the CG is mostly shaded or not.
Sometimes you just have to go and take your chances.
We've never been camping where we said "we should have stayed home"!!

I love Google maps! Just be careful, not all the info is up to date. You might be looking at a map that is 3 years old...

Some COE campgrounds have photos of their sites. Heading to Nashville 10/4 (good buddy, haha) and opted to stay at a COE 17 miles out of town, Cedar Creek on Old Hickory Lake instead of CG's closer to town and highway noise. Used rvparkreviews.com to find out the noise etc. issue. Also a big fan of using either google or msn maps and satellite views to get an idea of the lay of the land.

I have stayed at Cedar Creek twice this year, 5 days each time. I live about 30 miles from there. We love it...some of the spots near the lake are nice. I scouted this one out and took photos of my favorite campsites. Most of the COE campgrounds are closed now...just don't know why they don't stay open longer.

Hope you enjoy your visit. I see that you will have a car with you...parking tip if you are going downtown. Nashville Public Library Parking Garage between 6th and 7th Avenues, cheapest. You can park your car there, depends on what floor you are on, use the crosswalk to the big hotel across the street, down the escalators, use their bathrooms..out into the convention area..then onto the street near the Rhyman Auditorium and Broadway. Country Music Hall of Fame is just a few blocks. If you want to go out to the Opryland Hotel and the Mall, they are out Briley Parkway, Camping World is just up the road on Music City Drive. To walk into the hotel rather than pay their parking, park on the north side of the Opry Mills Mall, Opry House will be on the right facing north. They have a walk way that will lead into the hotel...nice place to walk around. The entry goes between the flood wall they put up a few months ago. Just some ways to save some cash....DW says I should be a tourist director. When camping and I talk to others that are visiting I tell them also. Need groceries when camping at Cedar Creek, Publix and Kroger's just a few miles from there on Hwy 70 in Mt. Juliet. On the way to Cedar Creek...some of the local wildlife like to hang out there..deer. Enjoy...
