You can try here RV Park Reviews :: Home

These are reviews submitted by real campers. Not all campgrounds are here, but a lot are. Good Luck.

YMMV on that site.... I just looked at KY and IL. Both lists were populated
mostly with private CGs. Hardly any state parks as the OP requested.

Another way is to google for a specific park review.

I go to a state's parks website and choose one and then read all
they are telling me about ammenities, things to see and do and
look at their pictures then google for reviews on that park.

Also google this group and/or ask in our On the Road forum.
See that search box at the top of the page?? Put in park name and make sure the dot next to FRF is dotted and hit search. Then do the same for the google dot.

There's always RV net. They have a huge parks, campgrounds forum.
Search it and also ask if you don't find your park already discussed.

Woodalls is another good starting point if you're looking at an area and
want to know campgrounds and parks in the area. They're kinda weak
on state parks tho.....

Good Luck!

Look at the COE campgrounds...we drove up to Barren River State Park in KY a few weekends ago. We looked at the state park but then decided to go by a few of the COE ones, didn't know they were there. If you want to know ask on here...someone has bound to have camped in a campground you are looking at. We have camped at several here in the Middle TN area. Good luck and happy camping...

stayed at a coe park recently (mcnair) at carlyle lake in illinois, and it was nice. a small park with 32 non reservable sites, split evenly almost between an upper level and a lower level. the lower level has water spigot shared by 2 sites, fairly shady, wide and long lots with no slide interference. the coe ranger said they are in the middle of upgrading the whole place, but may take a year or 2.

he also said not all coe parks are created equal as far as nineness goes. all sites seemd to have 20/30/50 amp service.
