Question The Fox Den Heading to Wyoming

Hi All,
We're still fairly new at camping (Rockwood Signature 8329) and have yet to venture out of the state of Florida. We've been enjoying our State Parks immensely but now have the bug to head out west. In a nut shell, what would be the most direct route to get us from So. Florida to Custer, SD. I have to say I'm a little nervous about hitting bad weather in the Heartland, but we must pass through there to reach our destination. We plan on traveling approx. 350 miles a day. At that rate it may take us seven (7) days to reach Custer. We're looking at possibly heading out August 2017. We'd take the Florida Turnpike to I-75 to I-10 West to maybe I-49 Gulfport, MS. That's where I get a little wigged out. Please post your suggestions. Thanks!
