I will be traveling north on I57 in Southern Illinois to the Frog rally in Goshen, IN. My GPS wants to take me to the south side of Chicago, then across to Goshen. Is there another way that I could take that will avoid that area altogether? I am thinking about taking Route 24 at Gilman and then North on 15 to Goshen. Has anyone taken this route? Is there a better way for me to go?
Have taken 24 for the last 2 yrs. GPS didn't recognise it the forst year but now it does. Lived i Chicago for 40 yrs and stay as faraway form south og Chicago traffic. A fe miles before you hit 15 there is a bypass(?) 115 saves a little time. Last year there was some bridge work that should be done by now. Se you at Goshen

This is my first rally and I knew that 80 through Chicago would not be the best route. I too am taking 24 to 15. Just concerned about diesel fuel on this route.
Haven't really looked for diesel, but Montecello, Logansport and Wabash are pretty good sized.15 has a few good sized stations. Nottruck stops but still fairly large. With my tt and tv I'm pretty close to 45 ft.
