Question Travel Recommendations to Goshen

I will be traveling north on I57 in Southern Illinois to the Frog rally in Goshen, IN. My GPS wants to take me to the south side of Chicago, then across to Goshen. Is there another way that I could take that will avoid that area altogether? I am thinking about taking Route 24 at Gilman and then North on 15 to Goshen. Has anyone taken this route? Is there a better way for me to go?

Thanks,

LarryT

Have taken 24 for the last 2 yrs. GPS didn't recognise it the forst year but now it does. Lived i Chicago for 40 yrs and stay as faraway form south og Chicago traffic. A fe miles before you hit 15 there is a bypass(?) 115 saves a little time. Last year there was some bridge work that should be done by now. Se you at Goshen

This is my first rally and I knew that 80 through Chicago would not be the best route. I too am taking 24 to 15. Just concerned about diesel fuel on this route.

Not sure about 24, but there is a large truck stop at IN15 and US6.

Thanks. Finding suitable stations that have diesel and are wide enough for the fifth wheel seem tb be few and far between

Haven't really looked for diesel, but Montecello, Logansport and Wabash are pretty good sized.15 has a few good sized stations. Nottruck stops but still fairly large. With my tt and tv I'm pretty close to 45 ft.

Thanks for the update. Always want to be safe and not sorry. DW and pets wouldn't appreciate sitting on the side of the road.

I'm here. We are located North of the track by the Tiki Hut.

We have a Cedar Creek at the North end of the hut.
