Oh...maybe I should wait 2 more days for the fall color tour then. Add another 2 days and I could go skiing.

I love reading this thread...The U.P. is one of our favorites. Hopefully, this year will be our first time with a travel trailer. There are so many places to see and a lot to do. Newberry, White Fish Point, Fayette, Munising, etc., they are all great.
We want to camp at Munising and take the Grandchildren on the Shipwreck tours.

If you get a chance....There is a museum at White Fish Point that has items from the Edmund Fitzgerald (I believe it went down off White Fish Point}. It is somewhat removed from other places. However, we went to Oswald's Bear Ranch on the way to White Fish Point.

Gotta try the bear ranch! Whitefish Point I believe will be fairly close to Tequamina falls. I never spell that right!

UP camping
We tent camped growing up and for 20 years as an Adult. Do not keep any food in your tent in UP or Northen Michigan (lower). Just keep it in your vehicle. Keep garbage cleaned up. Locals can point you towards any "bear dumps". Not really supposed to have them, but...! You'll be fine honest. Enjoy!!

I think they shut down the bear dumps. We went to one when I was a kid and it was really one of the coolest things. There were about 20 bears just going through the dump looking for food. There were idiots out of their cars with their kids hand feeding the bears though. even some cubs with momma right there. I'm sure they shut them down due to people like that. It's amazing more people didn't get hurt.

If you are traveling the M28 along the lake stop at every roadside park/ rest area. They are all really nice and some with beachs.
