What a stormy night

Our first camping trip of the year and lots of storms. We were staying at Arrow Rock SP in Missouri last night and had a pretty powerful storm that rolled through about 8pm. Lots of hail, very high winds, and heavy rain and tornadoes on the ground in the surrounding area. The storm was shown going around us well to the north then suddenly split and came right at us, luckily the SP staff was monitoring the situation and opened the visitor center and got all campers to the basement. We were lucky to live 20 miles away and left the camper and went home for the night as other storms were reported to be building up to the west in Kansas. We have ridden out storms before but this one kind of got the hair raised on our necks because more storms were supposed to be coming in later during the night so we made the decision to leave. On the trip back home about a mile from the park it looked like nothing at all happened, lights on and no damage or water standing anywhere

psgrandpa1--we go to Arrow Rock at least once a season. I have seen large motor homes in the park. No issues with ingress and egress. Nice park and great for bike riding. The little town has a few antique shops--not a lot of activiity.

The big thing about Arrow Rock other than being one of the oldest settlements west of the Mississippi is the Lyceum Theater that puts on small Broadway style shows during the summer and fall. Some of the actors and actresses have actually performed on Broadway. The shows do sell out but if you know when you are coming you can order your tickets in advance
