Presently at the county campground at So. Padre. Been down here almost 4 weeks, very dry. About 20 seconds of rain in the 4 weeks we been here. Kind of pricey for what you get. They have about 20 sites at Andy Bowie (north of town) which is black top, but that might be better than the sand burrs down here, but then if it wasn't for them, there wouldn't be any green on the ground. There is a KOA near by at 67 a night I think. Was over 900 for a month. The sites are gravel. Emailed a place in Port Isabel but never got an answer from them. Heading for the north end tomorrow.

I've stayed at Isla Blanca and can attest to the amount of burrs they have down there. You will be pulling burrs from your carpeting for the next year! I usually stay at the KOA and with my rewards card I pay around $60 per night. Phil and Carol run a top notch park and treat you like family. Never stayed at Andy Bowie although my kid's basketball coach swears by it. Good luck to you (and me) next week as the island will be over run by Spring Breakers.

The last week of March we will take our Silverback to 370 Lakeside park in St. Peters, MO to dewinterize it and test all the systems. Once that's done we will head to College Park, MD for the Cherry Blossom Festival.
