My wife and I occasionally go over to Spencer when the transportation museum has special events. Rather than spend all of the driving time back and forth from the Triangle and to keep things relaxed we stay overnight in Salisbury. Typically we will also eat a late dinner out. Now with the TT we would like to find nice campground not to far from Spence/Salisbury to stay at.

What's it like there? Is it possible to come back later at night or are they like the state campgrounds that once the gate is locked that it until morning?

Blanco has some large sites. I should add them to the list, it's been over a decade since we visited.

We're heading up to Ft. Parker State Park, near Waco, TX in the near future - it's been a few years since we last visited.

We were in 736. One row over from the road with the cabins and a short walk to the beach.

If you have kids and like activities, then you will love it. Lots to do and the lower water slides are the. Best. One of our favorite campgrounds In pa. Enjoy.

Just return from Destin FL. 1969 miles round trip. Next trip will be local to a RV and water park resort in Bastrop Tx.
Pic from our Destin trip. You had to get up pretty early to get a front row spot.

Kho6658, you are right about that. My wife got up for her morning beach walks, and would get our spot then. That beach gets packed quick! Awesome trip though, over 2300 miles for us round trip, with a stop off in Birmingham Al
