Shoulder
While you are down that way, check out Hunting Island State Park over in Beaufort..also Skidaway State Park in Savannah. I grew up around that part of the country, Savannah and we frequent the area often...Love Hunting Island....be sure to take a ride over to Savannah and rivers street..

So, doing the physical therapy with a definite goal!

Cuiver river is a bit unique...once you are in the park it's a bit like lake ozark. Huge hills and rocky terrain are the features. There is a size able lake that allows for non powered boats..no real current but you could spend some time out on the water for sure. The full hookups are fairly close together and if you want a more camping like experience I suggest the electric only sites as they are rather large.
Been to Babler not to camp but for the day..campground is not real friendly to large rigs.
Have not been to the others...can't speak for them.

Our next trip is little off course than others posted. We booked at Paragon Casino (Mar 6-10) in Marksville, LA to attend a convention for an association that I belong to. Then two weeks later we're going right back with a group of friends to drink, cook, and gamble. I'm sure nothing will go wrong!

Second trip - Huntsville, AL the second week of April.
Third trip - Washington DC Mother's Day weekend (grandson makes 1st Communion). Then down to Chattanooga mid-week for the TN Good Sams' Samboree.

If you want to float and in a nice area try the Current river in the Ozark scenic river ways near Eminence Mo. It's a spring fed river so on a 100 degree day the water is still nice and cold. its only about 140 miles from St Louis there are a lot of private campgrounds and one national park near there. I love to float this river every year sometimes twice in a year.

Next week I a heads g to the Everglades for 5 days...then Fort Piercemid March to pick up the new 2306 from the dealer...then Rainbow River, follows by Hillsborough River, then Florida Caverns State park, after that fort desktop, and finally Florida keys. That takes us through the 4th of July!

I am double booked for the end of March. Originally was going to the usual beach location but hoping to make it to Calico Ghost Town instead. For one reason or another, mostly weather related, I have cancelled previous reservations for Calico. I will cancel the beach reservations after I arrive at Calico. I can't rule out the weather just yet.
I am booked up through Labor Day but am looking to fill in a couple of holes. Just can't get enough camping in.

Do be careful with all the ice. Here in northwest Missouri we are bracing for the 12-20 inches that they are predicting.

yeah, love the current, jacks fork and meremac river. have been to them all at some point or other. was just looking for other places to check out, and i heard of cuivre river and put that and canoe trip together. i thought it might be like the rest of them (as mentioned above). we went to the niangua river last year and it was crowded, dirty and not as peaceful as the others. we wont be going back to that river.
