Our next trip? Leaving in the early morning hours of 08/23...headed HERE:

Up the Creek RV Camp (Pigeon Forge, TN) - Campground Reviews - TripAdvisor

This will be home base for 10 days. We're hitting the Bristol NASCAR race, and we're avid/rabid go-carters....I race durrrrteh! (evil grin) so we'll be hittin' various and sundry tracks in that area.

It's not how old you are, it's how you're old!

Besides, I have my own theory about age;

If age is a state of mind, and I've lost my mind...I'm AGELESS by golly!

Morro Bay

Leaving this Sunday Aug 11th for a few days in Morro Bay, CA. This is our first trip this year after a lot of things have settled down for us. Down the road we'll plan one for the Red Woods or Pismo Beach, CA hopefully before the end of the year

Scratch, try to work in Inks Lake SP if you can. The parks you mention are beautiful, but Inks Lake is one of the crown jewels of the Texas Parks System. I retired from Texas Parks & Wildlife and now live just 7 miles from Inks Lake.

Amen to Inks Lake, Lakebucky. We used to tent camp there about 30 years ago; we'll take your good advice and certainly make a trek back next spring. Have you been to Canyon of the Eagles on Lake Buchanon? We enjoyed a few days there last year when the bluebonnets were in full bloom. Awesome...

My husband and I live about 40 miles from Kenlake. Grew up camping there and in the lakes area. I was so surprised to see someone was in the area. Hope you have a great time

There are trees but I don't think they will be hard to get around but it does seem like the sites were on the small side. We met the camp host last fall and he was very nice he is from Michigan so he and my husband got to discuss areas they know. He is parked right at the entrance on the right

Forgot to ask if you had been to the area before. Be sure you go to Belews. It's a local favorite burger and ice cream spot. You park and the girls come to your truck to take your order

Which campground? Cottonwood or Lakeside? I'm really considering Cottonwood for that weekend too. Now that Labor Day is coming up I'm regretting cancelling my beach reservations so I'm considering options. I like Rancho Jurupa a lot especially since its a local campground for me! The very first night camping in my TT was there.

Sounds great! We want to see pictures too!! The Red Woods are nice too - we visited Big Sur a few years ago and love camping by the river and seeing the red wood trees. We were limited on length of traveling so Big Sur was the choice.

Cottonwood campground. We love that place. My first shake-down trip was there too. We usually go to Lake Skinner, and it was a fluke that we went to Rancho Jurupa the first time because of the Temecula Balloon and Wine Festival...no reservations for that weekend, so we went to Jurupa!

Next tuesday, heading over to upstate New York for Turning Stone Casino RV Park, meeting up with firends and family from western, MA. Five hours of driving and 237 bridge expansion joints we'll be there. Then possibly heading to the finger lakes or somewhere in Pennsylvania, just going to wing it for 4-5 days after Turning Stone.
