We will be heading to Sea Mist, a Military CG on Virginia Beach. We got lucky, got 2 weeks. I'm hoping we get the new section with concrete pads, but if not the older section is nice also. Be there June 1st through the 15th.

Went to Durango in 2006. Really enjoy it there. The Silverton train ride was well worth it to us too.

Which space did you reserve? That park can get rowdy on holiday weekends. Hopefully you got a low numbered space over on the entrance road to the right. There's a group of five RVers that always reserve spaces for the holiday weekends over in the high numbers...high forties to low fifties IIRC. They party HARD way into the late hours and early morning hours.
I just made reservations for Memorial Day Weekend back at Poverty Point again. Got the same space we got a few weeks ago. It's an awesome space, backed up to a wooded area with no close neighbors ( no neighbors on the right facing the space...just open grass area).
Our other favorite park; Jimmie Davis aka Caney Lake is booked SOLID for that weekend, even space one which is somewhat isolated, not near the water, quiet, etc. Color me surprised at that one.
We're not big on holiday weekend camping, but DH's golf schedule is kicking into high gear right now and we've got hitch itch.

Fred no It's a famcamp. I'm sure active has first priority but if you look up Military Campgrounds web site. It will list it and show pictures and everything. The site is free to sign up for but they ask for a donation if you want to send one It's add free. Also list all Famcamps and tells you about them and what to expect. It's called U.S. Military Campgrounds and RV parks.....

We were in site #55. Their group started at #53, IRRC. Three RVs on the odd numbered side and two on the even numbered side, going down in numbers (toward the lake).
You should be pretty close to the park hosts who are in the last space on the right, (odd numbered side) going up away from the lake.
If you can't get moved, look out for the HUGE Seismic 5er. LOL, that's party central for that group.
I wrote about this group in detail on the camping etiquette thread.
We've camped there since then, over on the other side of the campground with wmtire and his geocaching group. Nice and polite campers over there in the low numbered spaces which is away from the water.
Why is it that in so many RV parks the rowdy ones are the people who reserve spaces closest to the water?
I laugh when we go to Jimmie Davis State Park and see the rowdy bunch down around the #40 space. They party their booties off on Saturday night, then space #40 is where church is held on Sunday morning.
We choose space ONE when we camp there. No where near the water and right across from a camp host.

We are heading to West Burns Run Park (COE) on Lake Texoma on June 1. We will stay 1 week there then move to East Burns Run Park (also COE) for another week.

DH and I were sitting here in our pretty baby this morning discussing trips, and while it's not necessarily our "next" camping trip, we're planning a late summer/early fall trip to Arden, NC to Amendment Arms to pick up our two Joshua MK5s which we ordered (paid for in advance) when this new firearm company was "born". We'll be proud owners of two VERY early issue/serial numbers. This weapon is a true hybrid AK/AR.
It's named The Joshua after the passage "yea though I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil" (for *Thou* art with me)
And OC, *this* may be the trip where we get to meet you and TOWTA!

I'm in Des Moines, IA working at Adventureland Amusement Park. They let workampers stay next door in the adjacent RV park, so you can walk to work. However, I don't tow a car, I have an electric scooter bike. But get this: My own state doesn't require my scooter bike to be licensed, but IOWA DOES REQUIRE IT TO BE LICENSED! Thus, I had to give the state of Iowa, specifically, the county of Polk, $7 just so I could ride my scooter ( eGo Vehicles) to Wal-Mart! My being a non-resident of Iowa doesn't count, can't ride the scooter to Wal-Mart unless it has a license!
My next trip (If I'm not too pooped from this adventure) is to go to Minnesota in October to do the Sugar Beet harvest. After than, who knows.

Sounds like a winner. Bring the 5er and we'll fab and install you a rolling, slide out shelf or drawer in your basement.
