Where's Your Next Trip?

First time out was Labor Day weekend as we left the dealer for a shake down cruise to a KOA near Bastrop, TX. Nice private park just right for the TT's maiden voyage but we've been looking forward to doing the SP circuit, so we're heading up the road to Inks Lake SP this coming weekend. We haven't been there since we tent-camped in the mid-eighties.

Park Website: Inks Lake State Park — Texas Parks & Wildlife Department

Anyone else heading out this weekend?

as much as we complain of the texas heat, its nice to be able to use the camper pretty much all year...we have trips in november, feb, and march already in the works....thats my favorite time of year actually....unless we get a lot of snow...but even then its usually melted n gone in a couple of days....

Amen to that. Nice to see fall get here.

When folks ask why I enjoy Texas so much my response is usually "Because of October thru May " Now that we finally took the plunge, we plan on cooling off next summer in some higher western elevations.

Leaving this Sunday for a week at Tallulah Gorge State Park in north Ga. We're hoping for cool weather so we can enjoy the campfire.

(2 reasons to live in Baja Oklahoma, when I was working..)
1. My paycheck was sent there
2. October (tho last year wasn't all that nice..)

we're heading up I45 to Huntsville SP in a couple of days, for a couple of days - 1st trip in the new tt

few years ago we stayed at Inks Lake in our Roadtrek - a nice spot along the river when most of the other Highland lakes are dryin' up

we'll be headin' over to the Hill Country during the next few months - just to put some time in the new tt & tow.....Bill

Just a little week end get away in So Cal no place fancy but also no kids

I don't know what we will do with out the he touched me, the I don't want to do that, the lets play something else (generally comes from the loosing kid), whens dinner, and a plethora of other complaints.

but I will miss the help from the 15yr in setting up and tearing down, my DW is completely helpless at this. she can run a classroom of 30 6yr olds and keep us fed and clothed but God help us if she has to set up the trailer

Month trip to low country

We are taking our "big" trip this year to Charleston, SC (James County Park), Savannah, GA (Skidaway State Park), St. Augustine, FL (Anastasia State Park), and Destin, FL (Henderson Beach State Park). In the back of the Toy Hauler will be one motorcycle, two bicycles, and our 2 person inflatable kayak.

We have reserved the campsites but have flexibility at either end of the trip.

We are open to suggestions for other stops from and to our way to Northern Mississippi.

We just got back from a week at Tybee Island, GA. We stayed at the River's End Campground, loved it. We rode our bicycles downtown to the pier and other places, saved parking fees. Next trip planned is up and over Monteagle Mountain to Chattanooga. We were going to Fort Mountain State Park in North Georgia but they had no openings for the days we needed. We love the Chattanooga area.

Off to Samuel Champlain Provincial Park for 3 days this weekend and then after Thanksgiving (Canadian, lol) down to the big bad city, Toronto, for 4 days. Yep, there IS a campground close to downtown at hwy 427 and Finch Ave in Clairville Conservation Area called Indian Line. Full hookups and open until Nov 1st. Gonna go to the RV show on the 12-14 October weekend and DH is going to a single malt whiskey "tasting". Then it will be time to winterize when we come home.

We are heading to a local place called Keen Lake. It's in the Poconos. Next week we are going to Lancaster PA. Love the food there. Amish cooking. Shopping at the outlets.

Heading out Thursday morning -probably down to Riding Mountain National Park in MB.
Friday night is the full, harvest moon. Should be good for a photo op or two.
Or maybe I'll just sit there and howl.

One more trip in late October then that's it for the winter I think.

This Friday heading west of Port Alberni for our sixth week of camping this year. Then time to wash and treat the roof, wash and wax the outside and put the cover on for the monsoon season.
