Wisconsin Dells

I am looking for reviews on campgrounds in the Wisconsin Dells. Would prefer personal experiences versus websites. I have a Class A 38 foot towing.

We stayed at Merry Mac's while in that area a few years ago. Between the Dells and Devil's Lake. Great for kids with large water play area for an extra charge. The pull thru site we had was large. Downside, no full hookups and they charged a couple bucks to take a shower, and a train track is very close by although very few trains went through. All in all we had a pleasant stay.

Have stayed at Sherwood Forest campground there a couple times.
It can be a bit crowded as it is so close to many attractions.

We like it for the closeness to the attractions.

You will find that there will be an abundance of children do to the above.

we stayed at the KOA in the dells and had a great experience and while the train tracks were across the road we DIDN'T hear the trains at all, they had a straight shot through with no curves to squeal
I'd rate it a 8/10

We've camped in the Dells quite a few times. The Jellystone in Baraboo is really nice but a little pricey compared to the others. We've also stayed in Sherwood Forest as well as another one I can't remember for sure. I think it was Bonanza.

Honestly, I don't remember a whole lot about any of them because we only went back to the CG for meals and to sleep. We spent the majority of our time in town visiting the various attractions.

Never stayed in anything bigger than a pop-up so I can't comment on the size of the sites or the hookups. I can say I've never really had a *bad* experience at any of them. Many offer deals to certain attractions as well. That's typically how we decided where to stay. Figure out what you want to see/do and then look for a CG that offers a discount if you stay with them.

I would also use RV Park Reviews to find out what other campgrounds are in the area and what campers have to say about them.

We always stayed at Mirror Lake State Park. Close to the Dells area but far enough away from the lights and noise. Link: Mirror Lake State Park - Wisconsin DNR

Mirror Lake State Park is where we stay every year when we visit Wisconsin Dells. Site 75 is a larger site. Go to to look at the sites.

We stayed in Del Boo just a little ways out from the Dells closer to the casino, quiet small place very relaxing.
