2012 3171 ds - no cigarette outlet power under dinette
My outlet under dinette (12 v) and outside radio have no power. I checked all fuses in the electrical panel, the engine fuse box, the drivers footwell fuse box, and the isolator box by the steps - I physically checked the voltage at the wires coming from the floor under the dinette and it is 0 - has anyone had a problem like this before ? There is nothing else in the camper that isn't working, no lights out etc - I'm confused because I would think this is not the only thing on the circuit but I could be wrong ? If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful for help I'm stumped

My forester is not the same as yours but I have a fuse panel above the fridge next to the monitor that houses my 12 volt fuses. It should be one of the 15 amp fuses. I don't have a 12v round socket in my dinette, but the USB charge sockets in my dinette slide out are powered from my fuse marked slide out. It won't be a chassis fuse.

Hi Bob you are correct all the fuses for the coach are 15 amp - I was just checking every fuse in the vehicle just in case there was some strange wiring that they did - in my forester that fuse panel is on the side of the bed in the back and my control panel with all the switches is above the fridge like yours but right next to it is a storage cabinet. there is no fuse box up there that I can see - if none of my fuses in the coach fuse panel are bad and I physically have no power at the wires coming out of the floor does this mean that I have a wiring issue somewhere between the dinette and the electrical panel ?

I would try to find a schematic for your rig to see where the wires come from....sounds like fun. Wish I could help. I keep finding new things on mine every day.

You might want to check the outlet itself. On *some*, there is a very small switch (button) that you gently push to turn on/off.
On mine it is underneath where the plugs go in and hard to see.

Thanks for the help guys - actually I only noticed this problem because I had the dinette out to replace the carpet and I was attempting to use the 12 V plug and it had no power and that's when I tested everything and found that nothing under the dinette has power - I unplugged the cigarette lighter's and outside radio so that the only thing on that circuit was the wires coming from the floor and tested the wires and had no voltage - Bob is there a phone number at Forest River I can call to get a schematic I would love to have schematics of the coach wiring but I didn't know that was something I could get lol - I can imagine I will have to trace the wires back and see what is going on I will post a fix whenever I figure this out in case someone has this problem in the future

I don't have any phone numbers. That could be a nightmare trying to actually talk to someone. I thought there was someone on this forum from FR. I like the challenge of fixing my own problems also...leave the warranty for expensive parts. I didn't buy extended warranty.

Joshua from FR *does* monitor this site and he (2 weeks ago) said he was trying to get wiring diagrams etc. So far we still don't have them. You might leave a message for him also asking so FR understands there are MANY of us who do our own work and NEED the wiring diagrams, schematics and component locations.

We have wiring diagrams but nothing specific to the entire coach, for example we have a diagram of how we wired just the 12V socket, we have a diagram for how we wired just the fridge and since it is constantly updating it's tough to send out accurate wiring diagrams.
Back to the matter at hand, it sounds like a fuse. Did you use a test light on the fuse?

Had an issue with my dinette ceiling light. The fuse in question was not blown but was not making good contact due to corrosion or arcing. Scraped both sides of the blades and all was good again.

On my fuse panel the light next to the fuse will not light if it burnt out. Sometimes the fuse filament looks ok but still doesn't work. Good luck

To answer your question Joshua yes I used a power probe it is a multi meter and test light combo - I tested the wires under the dinette and all the fuses test good on both sides of the fuse and none of the red lights are lit - I guess I will try and take all the fuses out and physically look at them and make sure they are all getting good contact

Oh one other thing I noticed was that when I pulled the fuse that is labeled outside stereo my Jensen stereo and DVD player that's in front of the bathroom loses power - I also have two empty fuse locations underneath the last fuse in my coach fuse box - are those intentionally without fuses ?

skyliliMD...I have the same model only a 2010. I had the same exact issue and when I took it back to the dealer, it was found that the 12V outlet and the 110V outlet were never connected in the first place. The wiring was there, but it was never connected under the coach at the factory.

I have a feeling it does have to do with the wiring although my 120 outlet right there is working fine I will check underneath the couch and try and trace the wires thanks for that info

here is a picture of the electrical panel with all the fuses removed as you can see not all the red lights light up if the fuses are bad lol - I checked all the fuses and they are good and they're connected fine once I put them all back in - both sides of the fuses are hot - off to trace the wires
