HerveVR, thanks for your response.

I went to RideRite's website and read some information. Now I'm really confused. This is what I found from their frequently asked questions:

Q:
Will this raise or lower the ride height of my truck?
No, the Ride-Rite kits are designed to work in the original suspension height and configuration. Changes to height can hurt performance or allow the parts to be stretched or compressed beyond their capability, resulting in a premature failure.

After reading the how-to page from their site, they suggested that prior to loading the vehicle, take note of the original height. After loading, inflate the air bags to raise the vehicle back to it's original height.

That is what I get before and after: ± 3 in.

Make the test and judge by yourself.

With all the travelling we made so far, no issue.

URGENT UPDATE! I noticed my bumper had pivoted a little and thought it shifted where the bolts attach to the frame. Looking closer recently I saw rust and realized the welds on the bumper are failing. I note this happened after maybe 3000 miles of use with 2 bikes and a bike rack. I'm sure the bike rack bouncing around put allot of stress on the bumper but this suggests the bumper cannot handle the weight. So I will be removing the bumper mount hitch.

We added a hitch to our toad and carry them there now. If no toad will use the regular hitch.

Not a great picture but you can see how the flange weld has separated from the bumper.
