2015 forester 3051s speakers issue
I posted earlier on a different thread but this may be a better place to place... We just took ownership of our 2015 forester 3051s...we can not get the speakers in ceiling to come on...we tried adjusting settings in radio.....any suggestions...we are extreme newbies to this..but excited for the adventures. Thanks. Keri

When you say "radio" what speakers play the radio?

1. When putting in a DVD. The sound should come through all the speakers.
2. When playing over the air channels...the sound will only come from the TV...unless you set it up to play over the surround speakers (instructions here https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...type=3&theater )
3. If the radio is on and only the dash speakers play, then I would check the fader in the surround settings.

Ok thank you.... When I said radio....I meant the sound was coming only from the dash speakers....we tried a DVD...and no sound at all from ceiling speakers... We read another post about a AB switch...where can we find that if that would maybe help us...but thanks for that link as we would like the tv to come thru those speakers as well

We got rid of the AB switch in the 2015's.
If you put a DVD in, does the sound come out of the dash speakers?
When playing music select the little bar graph looking that...that should take you to the equalizer. Then click on the BAL-FAD which should take you to the fader/balance screen. make sure the dot is centered.
If still not...maybe there is a loose connection somewhere. Unlikely, but not impossible.

The bal fad was in the middle ...we tried pushing to the back speakers only but got no sound..... When we put the DVD in,the sound, we think came from the tv itself... But we will double check that tomorrow... We know nothing came from the ceiling speakers... So appreciate you trying to help us...I knew we should of double checked at dealer....live and learn

That's weird. If the door speakers play, then the ceiling speakers should play. They all come out of the same harness. I would check connections at the speaker and at the head unit. U-tool should pull the head unit easy enough.

Hey kd i have a 2014 3051S and at first thought i had a problem. If you put a cd in the indash radio, or listen to an fm station, try turning up the volumn sort of high. I know in mine the volumn through surround is less than dash speakers. So with volumn low, but hearing while in cab i had to increase to hear music in kitchen. I did not know about fade and will try that to see if helps me. Also check the settings on the main switching box in cabinet above couch could be connection loose up there, or improper switch setting, which will affect operation.
I'm not a bad guy and hope it helps you or someone else does. Mr. Clemens is a great guy on here and we are lucky to have him. He is pretty frickin smart also.

Did you follow the video in turning off tv speakers? Change volume to fixed and switch to AV2 on the head unit?
If that doesn't work check the Audio Out on the TV. That is what feeds back to the head unit.
To be clear. There are three methods of audio in this set up
1. Radio or Bluetooth audio. This plays through surround speakers by default
2. DVD. This will play through surround by default
3. Over The Air channels. This needs to be set up to feed from the tv to the head unit
Knowing what method you are using and what you have tried will help with the trouble shooting.

Does anyone know how to remove the TV from the front entertainment center. I have added a DVD player and need to plug in the HDMI cable to the TV or is there another way. Also the TV is attached to the HDMI-2 and I think it needs to be on HDMI-1 with the DVD player on HDMI -2

This was covered in another thread. I'm heading to a meeting or I would search for it.
Depending on year, wood screw cap covers a phillips screw top (maybe bottom too). Take those (2) wood stiles off to reveal metal bracket. Take top and bottom screws out, whole thing comes out (TV is attached to that metal frame).
