Same here, and that was my issue when I lost it. It fell and when I stuck it back up I loosened the cable. Adjusted the cable and all good...now just waiting for a free weekend so I can get some service. ;-)

2016 6 speed transmission is an option

Read about the 2016 E-450 cutaway and the 6 speed transmission is an option, not standard. I don't think FR is going to foot the bill on those already ordered.
Here's my source 2016 Ford E-Series Cutaway Cutaway E-450 DRW | Packages| Ford.com
Scroll to Power and Handling and then Power. Scroll back up and you can see the MH options.
Am I misreading this?

I believe the 5 speed trans goes with the standard 5.4 engine / option for v10. The V10 option has the 6 speed transmission.

5.4 Option
The standard 5.4L Triton® V8 engine’s single overhead camshaft architecture produces 255 hp and 350 lb.-ft. of torque across a wide power band. It features a silent-design cam drive for smooth, quiet operation, plus a fail-safe cooling system and a 97,500-mile scheduled tune-up interval.* The 5.4L V8 is also flex-fuel-capable,** which means it’s capable of running on E85, unleaded gasoline or any combination of the two. This engine is coupled with the TorqShift® 5-speed automatic transmission.

TorqShift 5 speed trans
"Coupled with the 5.4L Triton® V8 engine or available 6.8L Triton V10, the TorqShift® automatic can handle your tough jobs. They feature a selectable tow/haul mode that compensates for altitude, grade and load conditions"

V10 option;
Featuring a muscular 305 horsepower and best-in-class 420 lb.-ft. of torque, the available 6.8L Triton® V10 is for big applications requiring lots of raw power. It’s coupled with the TorqShift® 6-speed automatic transmission, which includes a selectable tow/haul mode that compensates for altitude, grade and load conditions.

I also went to the web site that lets you "build your own" E450. Standard was the 5.4 with 5 speed. When you change to the option of the v10 it automatically includes / upgrades to the 6 speed transmission.

Thanks to all for the input and update. It appears as though the 6 speed is something that Ford has deployed to better address driveability and so forth. That may or may not be a good thing. From what I've read here and elsewhere, it looks to be a very small change in one of the gear ratios to slightly reduce RPM's during typical uphill pulls. Some years ago I had a vehicle that was a five speed auto, but had a sixth actual gear in the tranny. They (MOPAR) used one of the gears for upshift, and the other for downshift. In that case it resulted in a higher than desirable running RPM at highway cruise which also happened to cause an increase in gear noise. A lot of folks complained about this an quite quickly they came up with a programming update that re-arranged the way the trans shifted and eliminated the problem - all done with programming and it definitely worked. The Ford update/upgrade to the 6th speed is likely a two-edged sword: The good news is that the additional cog should improve drivability and potential keep the RPM's a little lower but still in the powerband for hill climbing. The down side could be reliability. I've heard and read that the 5 speed has been very reliable, but one knows how "new" can also mean teething problems. Won't know until the build is done, as it sounds like my order date may put me right on the edge as to which chassis I end up with, 2015 or 2016. Thanks again to all for your comments.

I believe this trans has been around for a few years in the HD F series trucks
