I have a 3011DS and the first thing I wanted to do was add gas struts under the bed. But after researching strut I could not find any that worked with a bed that moved with a slide. Only stationery beds. My solution was a prop to hold it up but it is heavy to lift with the upgraded mattress.
I have not had time to do a search for good struts yet but I'm sure you'll get some good recommendations here. In the meantime I attached a small wood strip to the underside of the bed just to provide a support for when we need to work under the bed. We don't intend on using under the bed for any storage and hopefully we will not have to lift it often so for now it does the job.
