2016 Forester rooftop satellite prewire diagram

OK I give up on the search function of this forum. I know I have seen the prewire diagram on this board but can't find it. Brian or Joshua posted it. I want to install a rooftop satellite and know there is a box on the roof that is prewired. On my unit a 2801 the spot where the satellite box would go is the TV radio area above the door. I can find where you plug the HDMI out from box to TV. I cannot locate the coax that is prewired from roof. Is it just loose behind the radio? Josh could you help me out and possibly repost the sat diagrams so I can print out and have an old fashion hard copy? I don't have the old style coax plate with a jumper.

I asked awhile back was told there was a pre-wired box on the roof. I couldn't find it and was later told my model didn't have the rooftop pre-wire. Hope yours does.

I'm gonna go off topic a bit. I need to go with Direct TV cause I want the YES network to watch Yankee games. Yes I'm a Yankee fan. Direct TV states.this is an HD channel. Since RV equipment will only have SD can you still receive HD channels in SD quality

I pulled the plastic sleeve out of the ceiling for the fan and verified the blue cable went to the roof. I found the blue coax to be nicked pretty bad. Not sure if it is bad enough to kill the entire cable. There is no way to replace the coax without destroying the ceiling. There is no way I'm taking it to the dealer for warranty.I don't want to get on the roof to connect my portable dish anyhow. I decided to use the port next to the front door which also has a 12 volt connector to power my winegard carryout which I bought used for $200. I disconnected the TV coax from that port and ran a new coax from there under cabinets, through a wire chase up next to fridge, and over behind the microwave and another cabinet to where the receiver will be. After all was done, it works great. Another lesson learned about not receiving ownership until all is known about your new rig.

OK got up on roof today. No prewire box near fan or any other place on roof. Is it possible the wire is under the box that has the jack antenna wire coming from it. I definitely have the sat hookup inside the unit. It's in a cabinet above door and also has HDMI port to TV. Anybody with first hand knowledge of installing satellite with no separate box on roof.

Lou,

Those MBS diagrams also show connecting the satellite receiver thru the park cable TV input. Look at Pages 7 and 9. If you do not have a connector on the roof you maybe able to use your cable TV input as well.

There is a separate orange coax connection for satellite inside. I just can't find any box for it on the roof. I think it's got to be under the cover where the king TV antenna exits the roof near fridge vent. Wondering if anyone can confirm. 2016 forester's are suppose to be prewired for satellite with termination on roof. The new units do not use the old style jumper coax.

Portable Satellite Wiring Diagram for Forester MBD

After exploring all possible coax routing options I got the attached diagram & notes from Forest River. The cable hookup is routed directly to the antennae amp/splitter (White Cover w/12v socket). By disconnecting the coax running to main TV and running a separate coax to satellite receiver you have a direct line to cable plugin at the rear of the RV. The HDMI cable is then routed from receiver to TV HDMI 1 socket. Attached satellite input at rear and make sure the antennae amp is off and presto your connected! No need to route new cable...
