2401R Stabilizer Jacks (2-point)

These optional jacks that were factory installed turned out not to be mere electrical stabilizers but hydraulic Bigfoot jacks. I called Bigfoot and was told the capacity of this model is 8,000# per piston or 16,000# total. That is more than enough to lift the entire unit (11,030 GVWR, 7,720 GAWR rear). So I would think that if left/right leveling is not needed and only the rear needs to be raised a bit, these could be used for leveling. The Bigfoot rep said they don't call them levelers because they don't affect L/R balance and can't lift front to back. Any disagreement on using these for a boost on the back when needed? (Meaning more than just hitting the ground with them and stopping there)Click image for larger version

I:ve used mine to level (back to front) my MBS 2401R several times. Also used them to elevate coach rear to install Sumosprings.

I have the Ford E450 based Forester with Bigfoot Auto Levelers and I have to say after 15 years of travel trailer use and manual leveling with blocks, etc the full-auto Bigfoot levelers are one of the biggest pluses of owning my new Forester.

I love the whole RV - but if I had to single out my top 3 or 4 features the Auto Levelers would be at the top of very near the top.

Any chance you can add front levelers and get full auto-leveling?

Maybe, but the rear pair operate together so there is no side to side leveling with this setup. I have a lot of 2x6's in 10" and 20" sections ready to go. Click image for larger version

After reading this thread I emailed Bigfoot and asked about M-B approved front levelers. Their response was:

"We are currently working on and upgrade to add two jacks to the front of your coach with a wireless control panel and a central pump. Keep and eye on our website it will be coming soon."

Hopefully a system that can reuse most of our existing parts and pieces is in the works...
