2501 Forester DVD Question

I have a 2015 Forester 2501 that uses the in cab "Jensen radio" as the DVD player for the main TV in the living area. Is there a way to use the controls while the vehicle is in motion? There are times when my wife would like to push the pause button for conversation with the kids or point out interesting things to see along the way, my only option is to stop and set the parking brake, so it just does not happen. Also, is there a remote control that can be added to the system to allow control without crawling into the cab to pause or FF, etc. ? JH

You can't use the DVD function while driving down the road due to safety reasons which is why you have to stop and set the parking brake. There is a remote for the "Jensen radio" that you can use to pause or play the DVD while going down the road. It should have came in the packaging that was in your fridge. If you don't have a remote they are available online.

Joshua, thank you, I did find my remote, it had dropped into the bottom of my paperwork. JH

On the remote, make sure you slip the battery underneath the clip in the battery holder. Lots of us have had problems by not doing this.

Our 2501 is new last November. It has the cab over entertainment center. We viewed Cds in the two nights we got to stay in it. Is there a button/setting to view only on the TV and not both the Jensen and TV. The Jensen manual will take awhile to get through. Is it a matter of having the parking brake on or ...?

Parking brake on, the Jensen will play. No parking brake, the screen is blank. You have to set "Rear TFT" to play on the main TV while driving.

Thanks. We won't be using DVD or TV going down the road, just don't want to be distracted with 2 screens (Jensen and TV) when stopped and watching.
