2861ds jack knife couch and dinette

I'm thinking about combining out couch and dinette into one large bed as neither one of them is big enough for any adult size couple!

I would love to hear if anyone has had a similar idea!

Any thoughts?

Queen size from jack knife couch and dinette!

It's not fancy but it works for us and it's very comfy! Takes 5 minutes to set up and 5 more to tear down.

We wont be using it often, only when couples join us!

Curious. I can't tell from the pictures but isn't the table too high?

Thanks SharpPI! It didn't cost much and I haven't had to modify the MH!

Used a mattress topper so it's really comfy!

Gandb26,

Bought the 6' table as Walmart and cut the legs at just the right height to tuck under the extended couch!

Thanks! Great idea. We have friends with this issue. This might do the trick for them.

Do you know how long the legs are after you cut them down?

This was a little over a year ago and at my age a little over a week is fuzzy in my memory but 15" sticks in my brain.
I think that was from bottom of legs to top of table.
It was cut to be the exact height from the floor to the bottom of the couch cushion.
Had our second guinea pig couple spend two nights on it last weekend and they loved it as did the first couple. Prior to that they slept with one on the dinette and on on the couch.
We use our bed in front (up top) as storage.

Thank you! We took measurements and its 19.5 tall. Although we have a 2017 and the configuration you did wouldn't work with ours, because the lip on the dinette table is too tall. So, my buddy is going to custom make a folder platform for us. Thanks for the idea, because we are following your creativity, just modifying it a bit.

I hope that it works as well for you as it has for us!

I'm 6'1" tall and I actually am more comfortable on that bed than the normal bed!

I'd love to hear how it works out for you!

Happy Camping!!!

I meant a taller platform - Not folder. Whoops. Darn spell check. I will post pics when done. But I'm not expecting it for months. I won't see him again until June. We don't need the bed until August.

SGR, thanks for your pics. After thinking of many ideas, I thought your idea was the best. Hence I copied you. The only difference is, I didn't want to cut legs off the table. I wanted to be able to use the table outside too. So, we found the adjustable table that lowers enough for making the bed, and tall enough to use as a dining table. Also, the set up on how you pulled your cushions over wouldn't work with our rig, because our dining room seats have wood lips on them and if we put weight on the lips, they would break. So after thinking of some ideas, this was the best way we could do it. THANK YOU!!
