Don’t have any problems going downhill. The Ford cruise control seems to find gears that shouldn’t be there. At least they got something right.

Tried the 6.2 % grade, started at 75 mph. In less than a mile speed dropped to 53 with the gas pedal jammed to the floor. Same results on three similar hills. Worst part is if you get stuck behind a slower vehicle and get slowed to 40 mph the MH will not accelerate above that speed until you get off the hill.

I’m waiting for a response from the local performance shop who is looking into doing the performance upgrade to the V10. They are a trusted outfit but have only done diesel upgrades. I may be the “test” vehicle for their expansion project.

That happened to us and the 2 guys in front of me, they both have Dodge trucks (diesel) 5th wheels. Not sure what speed we were going but it seemed like se stopped and could not go very fast again. So keep me / us in the loop as to what you do with your RV. Thanks, Phil

We're moving from a 41' 5th wheel pulled by a Ford F250 6.7L Diesel. Not much problem on an 8 % hill but slowed to about 45 any steeper than that. We are now looking to purchase a 3051DS and pull our Ford Escort sometimes. So without a toad does the 3051 do ok above 6%? I can only expect 40 mph with a toad? Glad you all are discussing this.

You won’t find many grades above 6% and if you do it’s probably not a road you want to be driving very fast. Overall I consider the Ford V10 to be marginally adequate for any motorhome...very marginally. It has about half the torque than a Ram Cummins. Our ‘17 Ram CTD pulling a 17k trailer can easily run 70 mph up a 6% so when I’m in the 3051 I really notice the power shortage.

I’m definitely going to do the V10 engine/transmission upgrade soon. Just haven’t decided which program to go with. I’ll definitely let y’all know when it’s done.

Finally got ours back from warranty work. Power inlet burned out on first trip and we lost 110v power. Fridge wouldn't run on lp. We found 2 broken/damaged wooden trim pieces, and there were a couple minor things. So far, seems all is right. Replaced power cord along with approving my replacement power inlet and will reimburse me the $82. Fridge works now. Replaced headboard and dinette trim. Also got front end allignment and now she holds true on the highway.
Hoping to make a trip soon to test it out again. First trip was a nightmare.
