3051 generator won’t crank

Went out to give the generator its monthly workout and it won’t crank. Figured I may have battery issues but they seemed fine, no issues running full wall slide out and in. Last time I had battery issues it showed as the slide not working properly. Replaced both batteries about 18 months ago. I leave the rig plugged in at all times too. Any ideas?

Have you tried to start the genny from the switch on generator or just the remote (inside) switch.
Also check the voltage at the start solenoid on the genny to see if you have voltage there. Possible bad solenoid if correct voltage is present and you hear solenoid clicking when you try to start.

When you press and hold stop switch you should hear the fuel pump running.

Voltage is present at the solenoid but it does not click when trying to starts. I hear the fuel pump but no crank. Checked all fuses in the coach and under the stairs even under the hood. Is there a control box somewhere with a fuse that I’m missing?

If you tried from the switch on the generator you have a issue with the controller module thats built into the generator or the starter solenoid. Have you tried the procedure for viewing the fault code built into the generator.

You will have two power wires on the solenoid. The heavy one is the 12V direct from the battery, the small gauge wire is the start signal wire. Which one did you have power on? Was this during cranking.

Do you think it had stopped near the top of the compression cycle? I had that happen to me and had to turn the crankshaft a bit. If you want to know howI did it, let me know. A tech told me that very, very rarely the single horizontal piston will stop near the top of the compression cycle and the starter won't have enough punch to get it going. Just a thought.
