3051S Front End Alignment

I have an appointment on Monday to get a front end alignment. Are there special alignment specs on our 3051S?

Ford specs are very broad but the previously posted specs are within them and work well. Ford twin I beam front ends are not easy to setup. If the shop sets to the posted specs you should be good but you will likely have to purchase and install adjustable upper bushings to get the settings right especially the cross caster and camber. Also make sure your air bags are set so the ride height front to rear is what you will be running when loaded for a trip as it can impact caster settings. Although some shops may say bump steer and heavy feeling steering is typical of Fords if it is set up right the unit will feel, handle, and drive almost like a car.

Drove my RV on the highway for a bit after alignment and all I can say is :wow! Big difference for such changes. Technician installed adjustable upper bushings as discussed. Heading out on a trip very soon to enjoy all my upgrades....

My cost was $75.00 USD and this included the adjustable bushings. I printed the specs and forum threads so Mike could read what everyone was saying and their advice. He was blown away that folks were being charged up to $300.00 for this alignment.

I watched as the Mike went into the pit to install the bushings and make adjustments while using his high tech alignment machine. I was expecting to pay well over $100.00 based on what others in the forums was saying but there still are alignment shops that charge a fair price. Mike buys bushings in bulk which brings the cost down to a few dollars a piece. I was recommended to him by the Ford dealership here.

Here is Mike's contact info if you have any questions:

Frank,

I have read that you should have a couple 1000 miles before
doing anything like this. How many miles do you
have on your rig/

Thanks for all the help
