3101ss

Hello:

My wife and I have been out looking at class "C" motorhomes, and really liked the Forester 3101SS.

Not sure if we want to purchase a brand new 2011 model, but there seem to be some real good deals on used (very low mileage) 2009 and 2010 models.

I was reading in an RV buyer guide that 2008 an earlier Foresters suffered from Quality Control issues. Just curious what other owners thought of theirs and how happy the 2009 and 2010 owners have been with theirs.

Thanks for any tips, advice, etc.

I have a sunseeker 2900, 2011. i like my rig, but there is some quality issues. I had a wall panal come loose, it was too tight so no room for expansion. Some caulking issues and i took my furnace panal off to repair a wall panal, and there was all kinds of "garbage" from the build ( wire scraps, ties, and even a plastic bag near a heat duct). CO2 detector was faulty and I have had 2 tail lights burn out. My dealer (Albany RV) has been good, fixing my problems. Make sure you have someone with you to help inspect any used RV, two heads are better than one.

Mike:

Thanks so much for reply and advice! I'll make sure we go everything with a fine tooth comb! :-)

There is a 2011 model of the 3101ss that is a couple hundred miles from me. I'd love to have a newer model, but this one has 14K on the clock already. we were hoping to find one (2010 or 2011 models) with less than 10K miles.

The hunt continues!

Thanks. We pretty much have our heart set on a "Forester" (something 2009 and newer) that is 31'. Still trying to decide between the 3101ss and the 3121ds.

Decisions....decisions...

We are on the "left" coast of the USA (Washington State)

I've heard the decor has changed for 2011 Foresters.

Does anyone know where I can find the colors (decor) of the 2011 Forester?

I've heard the same thing. I've also been looking for them as well.

When you go to RV-Direct and "build your own" they show colors for the Forester that don't appear in the 2010 brochure (Sand, Stone and Cypress are now the only 3 choices that show).

Could you elaborate on the wall panel issue? Anything else beside the wall panel and lights issues? Thanks

I called RVDirect to ask about 2011 Forester Decor changes. The decor colors have changed for 2011 Forester. RVDirect was able to send me 3 jpg images of the colors; sand, cypress and stone (attached pictures are in same order).

I attached the files for you viewing.
Attached Images
File Type: jpg Stone.jpg Forester Interior.jpg (49.0 KB, 11 views)
File Type: jpg Cypress.jpg Forester Interior.jpg (48.2 KB, 9 views)
File Type: jpg Sand.jpg Forester Interior.jpg (50.5 KB, 8 views)
