3150S towing capacity

Like a responsible RV owner, i weighed my 3150s with a full load of gas and water (worst case scenario). I have about 200 lbs of available GVW after adding passengers and pets. I do not carry a bunch of unnecessary stuff and have been very weight conscious with every item on the coach.

I know next to nothing about towing, but that doesn't seem to leave me with much capacity for a toad.

How much hitch weight should i expect to have if i have a reasonable toad? Does this mean i can never max out my water load and have a toad? What advice do you have about towing with this large Class C?

thanks for your consideration.

If you tow four down, you only have the weight of the tow bar ( less that 50 lbs). Trailers of any kind will have too much tongue weight. The actual weight of the toad doesn't matter much since you can tow 7500lbs.

Yes, 4-down doesn't add a lot of tongue weight. Next to none really. So that's not an issue. The goal is for the towbar to be on the same plane as the baseplate connection on the Toad. If you used a dolly or a trailer it would be a different story.

So your GVWR on paper is 14500 and fully loaded your 200# under? Then your GCWR is 22000 lbs on paper so your within the range of the hitch rating which is 7500 lbs(GCWR-GVWR). I tow a 4000# Cherokee

Good question though because even if you meet your GCWR you still need to meet your GVWR for the motorhome
