Yep. If that fridge is really drawing 20 amps it has a big-time problem. Did the dealer actually measure it or just say it was drawing 20 amps? If it was the former, you need a warranty repair on the fridge. If the latter, the dealer is just plain wrong.

We easily run ac, fridge, elec water heater, tv and lights on 30 amps. Now if we add something more to that like an electric skillet or toaster we will start to trip a breaker. To add more we just switch off the elec water heater.

But no way should the fridge and ac be maxing out 30 amps.

Our fridge, same model, has an outdoor fan that runs off and on to aid with air circulation, particularly when it is warm out. Perhaps this is the humming you are hearing?
