Advice on regular maintenance for Forester 2401W slide ...

After taking our rig out a few times now, I hear different squeaks and rubs and groans each time we extend and retract our wall slide. I have to think there is some tender loving care that must come along with having that wonderful giant wall slide. Any advice from fellow 2400W owners or the reps on this forum?

I don't know you already knew this. There is a recall on 2401W slide. I read some where in here about that.

Is it the Schwintek design? There are YouTube vids about maintenance and troubleshooting

-Dry lube on the tracks.
-Keep everything clean.
-When full extending or fully retracting hold the button for 3-5 seconds after it stops to give the controller time to align itself.

You will always hear the rubber seals squeaking down the sides of the walls and flipping as the slide goes in and out. They are all noisy. I always listen for the seals to flip on the way in and out so I know if they are in correct position. Have someone run the slide in and out while you are outside and watch and listen so you can see what you are hearing.

I always check the outside seals to make sure they did flip outward. If not, I use a simple yardstick and run it up to flip them out. At the bottom corners, make sure the verticals are flipped out and lapped on top of the bottom vertical.

Thanks all. I have lubed my slide gaskets and mechanism according to recommendations here. In doing so, discovered some extra mini-gaskets, surrounding each row, as pictured here ... Are they supposed to be there? If so, is it important that one fell out while I was lubing? 😳Click image for larger version

Thanks, Raptor. Looks to me like they intended these little pieces to be there - there is a pair of them consistently located at all 4 rails (except for the one that fell out in m hand).
