If you have an AUX OUT, or RCA Audio Out connections on the TV, you should be able to use wireless headphones.

Blue Tooth Headphone with TV
In our bedroom at home I have a 2016 Samsung TV which does have Blue Tooth output. I purchased a pair of Bose Sound Link II Around the Ear Blue Tooth headphones from Costco for my wife who has poor hearing.
When the headphones are turned on, they automatically sync with the TV and she has not noted any latency in the sound (lips and sound not in sync). By selecting a menu setting, sound is also pushed out the TV speakers for my use. The TV volume and the headphone volume can be set independently.
Needless to say, with the Bose headphones the sound is outstanding.

For anyone wanting to use one of the solutions that requires 120 volt AC power for the transmitter, an inexpensive 12 volt dc to 120 volt ac inverter should solve the power problem.

I think that is Mpow.

I was wanting the headphones for my three passengers. My DH doesn't like to listen to the sound from the TV while driving and the passengers have a hard time hearing the TV while driving. Thanks for all the suggestions.

How much were these headphones, if I dare to ask? Nothing like Bose for sure.

Price of Bose Headphones
Google Bose Soundlink Around Ear Wireless Headphones and they are $230 on the Bose site. I haven't seen them at Costco recently.
