Bedroom vent wired for fan?
We are about to order a model 2861. Is the ceiling vent in the bedroom prewired for an electric fan? I want to install a different fan instead of the Fantastic fan option from the factory, but do I have to order the Fanatstic fan option to get the wiring?
Thanks, Bob

99.99% sure it's pre wired. Our Lexi rear opening was. As a powered fan is available as an option, wires are already run to the opening for ease of install. Just take the inside trim off (4 screws using #2 square bit) and you should find wires tucked behind trim.

Fobagbob...why do you not want a Fantastic Fan? They really move the air and easy to care for.

Bedroom vent wired for fan?
Our bathroom has a small fan already and would expect the 2861 would too. So wiring will be there to upgrade. I'm leaving the small fan for now but adding a Fantastic Fan to the bedroom vent this weekend. The bedroom vent was pre-wired also and looks like the same wire runs over to the bath. Camper came with a Fantastic Fan up front.
Enjoy your new camper, there's nothing better!

Thanks for the replies, looks like I can safely assume it will be pre-wired.
campnqueen, I agree that the Fantastic fan is a great fan. I just like the look of the Maxxair Deluxe with the low profile integrated cover rather than adding separate vent covers to the Fantastic fans. The auto closing feature of the Fantastic fan when it rains doesn't work for us as we want to leave the vent open even in the rain. Has to do with keeping it comfortable for the kitty when we are away for the day.
Thanks, Bob

+1 on the Maxxair Deluxe. Easy install too into regular crank up vent above our bed. Wires were behind the trim.

X3 on the Maxxair Delux. Have two on our Lexi. Replaced the 3 speed factory livingroom with one and added a second to the bedroom. They do move a lot of air, especially when one is on pulling air in and the other out.
Got them on Amazon, lot cheaper there than any CW or other outlet.

Gidyupgo and grumpy0374, regarding the Maxxair Deluxe, what is your opinion of manual vs remote control?
thanks, Bob

Our dealer advised that the bedroom vent is pre-wired. It is tucked in between the vent frame and the roof framing around it.

Bob, the wife is petite so "we" agreed that the remote would keep me from being the remote.

Good point, we are going to look at a 2861 Monday before we order, I will be sure we see if the wife can reach the ceiling mounted fan comfortably.

Here's what you'll find when you take the trim off. Just starting to install my fan.

Our old trailer was not pre wired. It took all of ten minutes to fish power over from the ceiling light.

Finally installed my Fantastic Fan in the bedroom today. Only took 1 1/2 hrs or so. Pretty easy and wiring was right there. Did have to trim the inside cover about 1/2 inch.
Really moves the air nice and DW really likes the remote control since she can't reach anything! Wants to know when I will add a remote for front fan!

I installed a Maxxair fan in the bedroom 2-weeks ago after finding a hole in the oem bedroom vent. Of course we found that hole in a rain storm the first night of a 4-week trip. And yes it was the middle of the night and it was directly over my wife's side of the bed.
We had experienced a brief hail storm a few days earlier and think that caused the hole.
We like the Maxxair better than the Fantastic Fan in the living room.
I expected to find a tapped end red and black 12-volt wire there but was perplexed to find a loop of AC lamp cord. After I figured it out I was surprised to learn that this loop provided 12-v power to the thermostat.

Where did you purchase the fan? I am looking for the fantastic fan with remote too! Replace vent with hail damage. I'll try it myself as you made it look easy.
