Brake Controller

Does anyone know if the E-450 (3011DS) comes prewired for a brake controller. Do I just need to buy the adapter and plug it in under the dash? I'm going to start pulling the Jeep on a trailer when I go rock crawling with my son and will need an electric brake controller for the trailer. I have a Prodigy controller I will move back and fourth from my HD2500 truck.

I believe it does. Poke around between the brake pedal and the emergency brake. You could have a receptacle or simply the wires themselves, tucked up around the column somewhere.

I would think that most F450 would have the TBC wiring behind the dash, this may depend upon how old your truck is. My F350 had an integral TBC, that I changed to a P3 as you are talking about. I did this in my case because I changed to disk brakes on my 5th wheel and the integrated brake controller was not compatible.

There is a connector behind the coin holder in the dash above the radio. It is intended for the Ford brake controller, adapters are available or you can splice into the wires. The control wire from the connector ran to the correct location in the 7-pin trailer connector. The coin holder snaps into the dash but is difficult to remove, I bought a replacement after damaging mine in removal. Do a search, there are more descriptive posts about the connector including pictures.

My E-450 is a 2017 but the 3011DS is registered as a 2018......
