Bunk Ladder MOD

I had (4) 3-1/2 inch wide cabinet grade finished plywood pieces cut to install over the existing narrow steps. We decided to cut two inches in length off each leg instead of shimming the steps to reduce the angle. This makes for a more comfortable step on your feet. The goal was to keep it simple.

BTW...I did have to make longer button style straps for securing when traveling. But the ladder still fits in the same location on my #3051S.

Two weeks and counting on my maiden voyage of 4 months in the mountains of North Carolina.

Why stop now...needs a little 1/4" routered edge...maybe some stain to match the cabinets. Better yet, some carpet on those steps.

Great mod on your ladder Tim! ^I'd go with anti-slip strips instead of carpeting ^.

Sunday, I purchased anti-slip strips from Bed Bath & Beyond to install. The finished grade cabinet plywood is very slippery when only wearing socks.
