Burnt Plastic Taste to Water

Was up in Yellowstone in late spring. Water temperature at spigot was quite cold. While the shower was being used started to smell burnt plastic. Next time we used the water we found it tasted of burnt plastic. Took to the dealer upon our return but they stated they could find nothing wrong. They also stated they could not taste the plastic as we had been rinsing the lines as we travelled. Anyone?

On ours, the result of using a campground supplied hose to fill the fresh water tank. Eventually cleared. I now only use my own “potable water” hose to fill my tank. I also smell and taste the “potable water” before I put it in my tank.

I'm curious if the hot and cold both had the smell and taste.

And X2 on using your own potable water hose!!
