Class C Forester water pump

Ok, so we purchased a 2019 class c forest river forester last month. We took it for an overnight and all worked well. Now we started driving north yesterday from Florida. When we arrived in SC, we went to turn on the water pump in order to get water from our fresh water tank and nothing happened. Then we tried to put our levelers down and the OneControl screen said needs service cannot open. Gee, is this the way it’s going to be? Any advice? We called our sales person and unfortunately he was no help.

Have you used the water pump and levelers before now?

yes we have and it all worked well. We used the RV at a RV resort where we were hooked up to electric, water, sewer. There must be a step we are missing when it comes to the water pump. Do you or anyone know steps using a OneControl pad?

Did you happen to fill the water tank. If you were hooked to City water you were not using the pump or the tank.
Water tank needs to be filled separately.

Yes, we put water in the fresh water tank before leaving. Have about 33% in there.

As long as the pump is on there is nothing more to do as far as the One Control system is concerned.
Things to check:

Do you hear the pump running? If not the pump fuse may be open.

If you have not used the pump previously it may need to be primed, that usually happens without doing anything but may take a few minutes of the pump running.

Is the winterization valve in the correct position, if not it will not pull any water from the tank.

At times the check valve (internal to the pump) can get stuck, it can be reset by turning off the pump, connecting to city water run for 15 seconds, disconnect from city water, turn on pump and try to run water from a faucet again.

As far as your leveler issue. Turn off your battery disconnect switch with shore power/generator also off for 30 seconds or longer. When you power up the systems they will reboot, this may solve that issue.

Thanks all for the advice. Your using some lingo that I don’t know yet.
For example, where is the winterization valve and where is the check valve, internal into the pump? Sorry I’m green at this, but will someday be an expert!

The check valve is part of the pump (built in to it).

The winterization valve will be by the pump. There will be a valve with 3 connections to it. One will be a flexible hose with a screw on cap on the end.

What model Forester do you have, the pump for every model is in a different place.

Also if you add your coach model info to your signature it will there for all to see when trying to help solve a problem. Makes it easier for all involved.

Agree with other posters....Make sure pump is turned ON at panel..... Open a faucet. Listen closely.... if you hear pump running yet no water is comming our faucet, this is a pump priming issue and very common.

Also consider that hot water heater must fill via pump if not already full from last city water connection.

Bypass valve is at the water pump. Gotta find the pump normally behind a panel somewhere (NOTE SCREWS HOLDING IN WALL PANEL.... Its behind it).

I find my pump primes easier if I can first run city water for a while to bleed all air out of system. Then fill fresh tank, turn on pump, and open faucet.

Same rig I have so I know where everything is unless FR moved it).

Your pump is in the next to the last compartment on the passenger side. It is behind the black access door, tucked to the left. You will also find a inline fuse for the pump there as well. The winterization valve is right there as well 1 blue PEX line and 2 white braided lines. The valve (white) knob should point towards one of two lines that are across from each other not the "T" one.

The valve in the blue line should be closed, perpendicular to the blue PEX as this is the low point drain.

First think Id like to know is pump getting power or not.

1) Turn on pump
2) Open faucet
3) Listen for pump noise

No noise = electrical power issue
Noise (but no water flow) = pump priming issue

Ok, one more issue, refrigerator (French doors) keep opening while driving. I have removed everything from doors to eliminate weight, but when we round a corner, they open. We don’t drive fast or take turns tight....hmmmm.

I believe FR is using the Norcold refer in the 2019's. I have the Dometic RM1350 so it is similar but not exact. In any case the handles should have a latch hook on them, check to see if it is grabbing the mate on the refer frame. the doors may need a bit of adjusting to provide a solid latch.

There are some variations between year models but my 2018 3051 has the LCI OneControl panels (2) and a separate panel for jacks only. If yours is like that then the water pump and jacks are unrelated issues. For the main panel you can use a pin to insert into the tiny hole labeled “reset” and hold for 8-10 seconds. Another option is to download the free LCI One app for your phone or tablet. It bypasses the touch panel system.

This blue part needs to be removed when traveling. It is used when fridge is not in use to air it out

Another thing to check. Do you still have water in the tank? If you filled to 33% and did not close the drain valve under the RV behind rr tires, then your water drained out. Ask me how I know. 🤪
Next, leveling system will only work with emergency brake applied.
Also turn off all power to unit. 110v and 12v. Use battery cut off switch. On 3011ds it is in stairwell. Leave it off for a few minutes.
This resolved some panel issues I had.
Good luck.

As far as the fridge, I too, have the 4-door in my Sunseeker. I fashioned a wedge that goes vertically between the handles. No more open doors while traveling. I'll take a picture this evening.

OK. The black flipper on the left fridge door needs to also be in the slot or fridge doors will not lock.

At times it will not set in without a little help.
