Crack in fiberglass- underside of 2301
Hi all,
In the process of crawling underneath our 2011 2301 to install air bags, I noticed a crack in a fiberglass panel that runs about the width of the rv between the frame rails, and about 2' in front of the rear axle. The crack itself isn't any wider than fingernail width at this point, and almost appears to be just in the surface for now.
Obviously water penetration is a concern- we have a weeklong trip planned over the 4th, and I was wondering how big of a concern is this- is it something that I can drill the ends of the crack to prevent from spreading further and temporarily tape over with Eternabond until I can get to a fiberglass shop to look at it for repair?
A bigger question would be if this is something that is symptomatic of a bigger problem (bent frame/body)?
We're the 2nd owners of the unit, which is obviously out of warranty, and have had it for a little over a year now without any other significant issues.
Any help/advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!
