Dash DVD not playing on main TV???

Understood. I guess what I was trying to suggest is to remove it from the mount to install the adapter and then remount it leaving the adapter permanently. Then you could just connect your headphones to the adapter female end and the TV would then mute. It's just an idea to save you from having to re-engineer another mount and remove the TV every time you need to plug in your headphones.

My unit is not a Jensen,,,
But in the bag of papers there was a pair of removal tools,,,
Looks like a couple of large U shaped wires !!!
At first I had no idea what they were ???

Steve, we have an adapter and once you plug it in with or without headphones it kills the speakers to the TV.

I think that is the way they are designed. Even our TV's in the house work that way.
