Perfectly possible the way a lot of them date the units. Pretty common is for the manufacturer to "change" model years around March (even though it's identical to the prior year) and make the actual changes towards August / September. My current trailer was made in March 2016 and it's a 2017 model on VIN and all the paperwork, but it's identical to a late year 2016 manufactured in fall 2015.
My 2014 Mini Lite had just what you describe. I ordered it from the factory and got a call from the dealership asking if the next year's fabrics were OK as they had run out of what I ordered. So, what I had was a late year 2013 with an early year 2015 interior more or less. That unit was built towards the end of summer in 2013.
Man, that's confusing....
