Factory pick up/pdi

Wondering if anyone can comment on picking up a recently ordered 2431 from the factory vs. dealership? Order placed mid June, approximate stated delivery is mid August. Factory pickup would definitely same me some drive time as I'll be heading for the west coast. Any input would be appreciated.

I don't believe you can.
And for the most part you WANT the dealer to go thru it and do an inspection before you do your pdi.
If anything is wrong after you pick it up your going to have to take it to the dealer anyway.

Thanks Turb. One of the reasons that I asked is that due to the 2,411 miles that I'll be from the dealer, I'm guessing that going back to the East Coast isn't going to be a viable option. I may be mistaken, but I thought for sure I had seem several comments on here about deliveries directly to the ultimate buyer, along with PDI being done at the factory. Maybe I was dreaming? Thnx.

When we were pricing a unit from RVW, we found out that we could meet the delivery driver halfway, thus cutting the delivery charge in half.
I don't know of any FR product that can be picked up at the factory.

We don't do any factory to customer orders or pickups. You have to go to your dealer. Before each unit leaves the factory and goes to the transport company it goes through QC.

Only vehicle you can actually pick up at the factory is a Corvette. Down side is you still pay the shipping charge plus the factory delivery charge of $900 if you choose this option. Maybe FR could do that. Later RJD

Don't think they let you do that anymore. You pick it up at the Museum prep area. Later RJD

I would love to meet the folks doing the QC on some of these trailers.

Wonder if there is a checklist they use or something as I think some of the trailers should not leave the factory.

Wonder what the % of trailers that don't pass QC is?
